Data protection notice

The internet does not only offer users the benefit of quick and easily available information. The practical benefits can easily become quite the opposite, if data about individuals is collected to excess or is processed, transferred or even sold for commercial interests.

In order to counter the blurring of personal rights, legislators have adopted the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the requirements of which must be complied with exactly. Therefore, we would like to explain to you, as a visitor to our website, how we ensure the confidentiality of your personal data.

Data transmitted due to technical procedures

It is not necessary to store your personal data when visiting our website. You can visit our website without us requiring any personal data from you.

Due to technical procedures we merely become aware of:

  • The website you had visited previously
  • Date and time of your visit, including which pages of our website you visited in detail
  • Your TCP/IP address
  • Your operating system and the browser type of your computer.

Intended use of the data

The data identified is collected to draw up statistics in an anonymised form. Personal user profiles will not be drawn up during regular visits to our website. If we receive personal data via our special services, such as the contact form, usually only data required to fulfil the service is collected, for example the mail contact. If we ask for additional data, you are free to provide disclosures as a matter of course.

Our site will only store personal data for the duration of the procedure for which it is required.
Personal data identified due to technical procedures will be erased after 14 days.

Is personal data transferred to third parties?

We will not transfer, disclose, surrender, sell or otherwise market your personal data to other companies or institutions, domestically or abroad. An exception will only be made in cases in which we are obliged to provide information by law or by court adjudications.

Right to objection and information

Furthermore, you have the right to demand information about the data stored on you at any time, Art.15 – GDPR. You also have the right and the possibility to object to the use or transmission of the personal data you have given to us without stating any reasons at any time, Art.17 – GDPR.

Right of revocation and to disclosure

With respect to any personal data you have handed over to us, you have the right and the possibility to revoke the use or transmission of this data without stating reasons at any time, Section 28 IV BDSG. Further, you have the right to demand disclosure of the personal data stored about you at any time. This includes the purpose, origin and recipient of your data, Section 34 BDSG.

Links to other websites

We do not have any influence over whether data protection provisions are complied with on websites to which you are directed from our web range.

Use of cookies

Cookies are data sets that are deposited on internet users’ computers and can be used for identification. With the exception of Google Analytics, we do not currently use any cookies.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Inc. (“Google”). This collects and stores data that is used to draw up user profiles using pseudonyms. These user profiles analyse visitor behaviour and are evaluated to improve our range and to arrange it according to needs.

Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including parts of your IP address) is sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports about website activities for the website operator and to provide further services associated with website use and internet use. Google may also transfer this data to third parties, if this is stipulated in law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. Google will never connect your IP address with other data held by Google. We will also not bring the pseudonymised user profiles together with personal data about the person behind the pseudonym without your explicit consent, which must be given separately. Data recording for the usage statistics and the transmission to Google are done with the expanded code "gat._anonymizeIp();”. Therefore, IP addresses are recorded anonymously (so-called IP masking).

You can object to data collection, use and storage for the purposes of web analysis at any time with effect in the future by preventing the installation of the cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; we must point out, however, that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website in full.

In addition, you can prevent the recording and processing of data about the use of this website (also including parts of your IP address) by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available on the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Google Analytics

If we introduce new products or services, change internet procedures or if internet and IT security technologies develop further, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

If you have any questions, please contact the Data Protection Officer of the Matthäi Group of Companies.
