Sheet piling is used to secure port facilities and canal banks as well as building foundation pits, and is also used to protect against high groundwater levels. In areas where the groundwater is high, we employ sheet piling made of steel and reinforced concrete. The walls are composed of individual screeds, which, depending on the properties of the soil, are inserted into the ground either by shaking or driving, where they are then locked securely together. In hydraulic engineering, this procedure is a suitable alternative in places where there is insufficient space for the construction of embankments or dykes.
